Vital Records 

Authenticating U.S. Birth or Death Certificates

  • For vital records such as a birth or death certificates must first be "certified" from the local registrar or Illinois Department of Public Health's Vital Records Division.
  • Divorce decrees must be a certified copy from the circuit clerk of the court where the divorce was granted. 
These documents can not be notarized. 

Authenticating Marriage Dissolution Certificates

Vital records such as U.S. marriage dissolution / certificates or divorce decrees must be certified from the circuit clerk of the court where the marriage was filed and/or divorce was granted. 

These documents can not be notarized.
